About This Place

Nestled in the heart of Hackettstown, Greene's Beans is much more than your average café—it’s a multifaceted haven that masterfully blends a chocolate shop, gift boutique, pottery store, and charming tea house all under one welcoming roof. This vibrant local gem at 313 High St offers an experience that tantalizes more than just your taste buds; it enriches your senses with the rich aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans, beautiful artisanal pottery, and carefully curated gifts that speak to the thoughtful shopper.

Stepping inside Greene's Beans feels like entering a cozy retreat where every element is designed to delight. Their coffee selection is a standout, boasting enticing flavors like the warmly spiced Autumn in Vermont and the decadently sweet Bananas Foster, both priced at a reasonable US$12.95. The coffee menu isn’t just about flavor—it’s about craftsmanship, something patrons like Patricia Mindos have noticed, praising the unmistakable aroma of freshly roasted beans that welcomes you even from the parking lot. Whether you crave the refreshing chill of a Cold Brew or an indulgent Lavender Latte, the baristas here take pride in delivering beverages that satisfy even the most discerning palates.

Tea lovers are equally spoiled, with a refined selection that spans robust black teas like the India Assam Jorhat (US$4.95) and luxurious blends such as the Puttabong Blend (US$8.50). Green tea aficionados will appreciate options like the delicate China Pure Green Tea Powder or the fragrant Jasmine Scented Green Tea, each cup offering a soothing, restorative moment. Customers like Alex Vernes have expressed heartfelt appreciation for the attentive service, mentioning how the warm greeting and knowledgeable recommendations by baristas like Natalie make ordering a pleasure in itself.

The café’s atmosphere complements its offering perfectly. It is described by visitors as “very cute and beautiful,” a small-town gem where one can relax or work comfortably away from home. Victoria Pulido, a loyal patron with fond memories of the brand’s presence on campus, highlights the cozy vibe and hardworking staff, though she notes the occasional slow pace and order mishaps—realities that reflect Greene's Beans’ honest, human touch rather than a polished corporate facade.

One cannot talk about Greene's Beans without mentioning its sweet treats. The pecan praline shortbreads and ruffle chocolate cookies are local favorites, endorsed by customers like Jim Bragg and his daughter, who find the snack options perfectly complement the café’s beverages, rounding out the experience with indulgence and warmth.

For those who appreciate thoughtful craftsmanship beyond their cup, the pottery and gift sections offer unique, hand-selected treasures, making Greene's Beans a destination for anyone seeking meaningful, artisanal treasures paired with exceptional coffee culture.

In essence, Greene's Beans Hackettstown is a heartfelt tribute to quality, community, and comfort. It’s the sort of place where the aromas alone convince you to stay a while, and the earnest service convinces you to return often. Whether you’re stopping by for a quick iced latte, browsing charming gifts, or settling in with a soothing pot of tea, Greene’s Beans promises a genuine, memorable experience that charms visitors with every sip and smile.

Absolutely wonderful atmosphere and lovely, attentive service. As soon as I walk in, the barista (she said her name was Natalie) greets me warmly and even bothered to politely help me decide on a drink. I landed on a London fog which came out so delicious!! 5/5 will be coming back for more tea

You know they roast the coffee there because you can smell the heavenly aroma from the parking lot. Staff is very helpful and you can order online ahead of time.

Very very cute and beautiful coffee place in a small town They had freshly roasted beans and some great flavors for their lattes. They also have dessert in a jar! Very good coffee!

I used to get all things Greenes Beans when it was still on campus at Centenary! I love Kelsey, she is the sweetest, hardworking person I know! The Hackettstown is a cute little spot, wish I’d get out more to sit there and do some work. However I feel like I don’t go a lot anymore due to the baristas getting my order wrong. It also does take them a decent amount of time to make one thing. I’ve noticed the past few times that the prices have gone up, granted it had been awhile since my last visit. I always suggest people trying something new, give this spot a try if you’d like! The owners and Kelsey are awesome!

Iced coffee drinks also available! Get chilled without having to wait 30 mins at that other place’s drive through. Also it’s good to support local business. What I also like is the wide range of tasty treats. My personal favourite snack are the little Pecan Praline Shortbreads. My daughter enjoyed a ruffle chocolate cookie.

This location isn’t my favorite of the two, just because of how crammed it is. The coffee and drinks make up for it. Cute little place that always has delicious coffee. They have little trinkets and goodies to purchase like a gift shop. Always love their themed drinks. Suggest getting there early because the lines can get insane, and the space is not meant for a lot of people.
